Theme: “Yoga for well – being”

As frequently quoted, ‘OLD IS GOLD”

One such occasion to give a start/beginning to keep our selves hale and healthy, fit and fine is the ‘International Yoga Day’. Our school gave the go and celebrated it digitally with teachers, parents and students collectively. Recorded video of the in-action team of with voice over on the benefits of yoga was played. Enthusiastic participation was contributed.



The dawn on June 5th at SRS digitally began with the theme ‘Ecosystem Restoration’. Buddies of LKG, UKG and Std - 1 geared up enthused and began planting saplings, watering and pruning them. Std - 3 to 6, with poster drawings and Std 7 to 10 creatively designed various artefacts.

This act created a concern for the environment among the students and every one at home



“Try our best in Learning, distantly we all will do”

We have not stopped but given the go for digitally enabled online classes for our students so that their learning never stops. The goal is not only to make sure the child stays on target, scramble on catch up but to give them routines, make sure they have variety in the day – outdoors! Cook! Read! Enjoy! Dance! Music! Yoga! Drawing! And much more to add on.

Likewise, fireless cooking was organized digitally and savored digitally.



Valedictory day

The day dawned beamed with a rainbow of colours. There was no end to the joy of the students od Std – 10. The reason being Mr. Gopal Hosur, IPS (Retd) graced the occasion as Chief Guest along with Mr. Bahirji Ghorpade, MD (SMIORE), Mrs. Yashodhara (President), Mrs. Suryaprabha Ghorpade, Ekamber Ghorpade and other dignitaries.

The students with utmost vigour and joy, dressed in academic regalia adorned the function, shared their experiences, received memento, posed for photographs, dined sumptuous dinner and made the day memorable.


72nd Republic Day – 2021

72nd Republic Day was celebrated on 26th Jan 2021. It was a great honour to have SMIORE – M.D – Mr. Bahirji A Ghorpade as our Chief Guest who took the honor of hoisting the flag. Mrs. Suryaprabha A Ghorpade and the Principals Mrs. Bilquis Soudagar and Mrs. Rekha Kumbar too graced the occasion.

Diamond Jubilee block echoed with a melodious invocation song by our talented singers.

Rhythmic and graceful dance enthralled the audience as the students portrayed themselves as freedom fighters on stage with slogans that infused patriotism in the heart, soul and minds of the audience.

Talented dramatists of our school performed a role play and a short description about their role in the freedom fighters a great applause.

A short message was also delivered by the Chief Guest creating an awareness of what patriotism means. He said India is one of the biggest democratic country in the world.

Patriotism means path to success and the sacrifice, perseverance and the love the freedom fighters had towards the country. He also showed a great reverence to the teachers who taught him. His speech drew enthusiastic applause.

Lastly the program concluded with the vote of thanks.


Founder’s Day – 2020 - MYG’s Birthday

7th Dec 2020 was not just another day at SRS. The day marked a significant milestone in the history of the school. SRS were privileged to be a part of this remarkable school. With the faculty and children present began the program of our founder patron Shri. M.Y. Ghorpade.

Firstly the planting of the sampling by the students along with Principal and staff was done in memory of our founder patron Shri. M.Y. Ghorpade

Secondly in turns the garlanding of the bust of Shri. M.Y. Ghorpade by the school Admin, teachers, office staff, security and field workers extended their homage.

A short speech by Jennifer Abnis was delivered at the Golden Jubilee hall recollecting the Cherished memories of Shri. M.Y. Ghorpade.

Lastly an all school photo for ever marking this momentous occasion was shot.


Children’s Day - 2020

Children’s Day Celebration was a great experience as it was online. All students and teachers participated enthusiastically students dressed up as Chacha Nehru, delivered speeches, sang songs and teachers conducted quiz.

In the campus we garlanded the bust of Chacha Nehru and distributed sweets to all.


74th Independence Day – 2020

Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August on a low vote Managing Director, SMIORE – Mr. Bahirji A Ghorpade – did the honours of hoisting the national flag. Students from Campus – Sang “Hum Honge Kaamyab” and presented a Fancy Dress Show – dressed up as different COVID warriors.


Valedictory Function - 2020

Valedictory for Std X 2019-20 batch was celebrated on 8th Feb 2020.


61st Annual Day - 2020

61st Annual Day of SRS was celebrated on 17th Jan 2020.

We were very much honoured to have Smt. Sangita Jindal – Chairman –JSW as our Chief Guest. Diamond Jubilee stage echoed with melodious invocation song by our talented SRS choir.

Rhythmic and graceful fusion dance enthralled the audience as the students performed on western music with Karnataka style.

As India was celebrating 150th birth anniversary of a great Mahatma Gandhiji- we were inspired to stage a Hindi skit – “Gandhi EK Yatra” there was a great applause from the audience – when in a scene Gandhiji visited Sandur in 1934 and said “In a small village in south India has thrown open temples to the Harijans, the heavens have not fallen”.

English Skit – “Disastrous Virtual World’ – created a lot of awareness among the parents and students.

Lastly a Patriotic mash – up dance – ‘One – India’ – connected everyone to swing and cherish the beautiful lyrics.
